Abstract

This research addresses the challenges of energy administration and security in developing nations. It proposes an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart meter monitoring system that integrates security controls to prevent theft and allows for remote monitoring of energy usage. The system utilizes an Atmega microcontroller for connectivity, a GSM module for sending data, a non-invasive AC current sensor for accurate readings, and a user interface for data visualization and control. Upon detecting theft, the system sends an alert to the user and disconnects the power supply. Users can also remotely monitor energy consumption and turn off the meter through the GSM connection.
